The current pandemic situation in Shanghai has aroused widespread concern. On Sunday, at 5:30 pm, April 3rd, Anhui Shuijian Hospital – a non-profit hospital of ACEG，received an emergency notice from Bengbu Municipal Health Commission that Anhui Shuijian Hospital was instructed to organize and send a 10-strong team to support Shanghai that very night. The hospital immediately responded to the call and launched the initiative to aid Shanghai. “I sign up!”，“I'll sign up，too!”，all the medical staff signed up eagerly, and soon a team of ten medical staff led by Vice President Chang Minghua formed, they gathered and made the preparations for departure quickly.
Then, the medical team branched out into two sub-teams, one has come to preparing daily supplies, epidemic prevention supplies standby medicines, the other has participated in the professional training program to minimize the exposure risk in their medical care works.
At the departure ceremony, Wang Wei，President of Anhui Shuijian Hospital，emphasized that all members of the medical support team should follow the directions and arrangements, cooperate closely and fight together with the local medical staff, and give full play to their strengths and go all out to do a good job, also he told them to do a good job in self-protection at the same time, and he said he was looking forward to their safe and triumphant return at an early date.
All the supplies were ready within half an hour and the ten medical staff gathered at the hospital gate at 6:30 and arrived at Bengbu Health Commission at 7:00, leaving for Shanghai with their colleagues from other hospitals in the city.
Since the outbreak of the epidemic this round, Anhui Shuijian Hospital has sent many medical staff to support the local quarantines for patients with fever in Bengbu city and people arrived from overseas in Anhui Province. In order to improve the nucleic acid testing capacity of the PCR laboratory, the hospital has increased its daily capacity of swab sample tests from 720 to 1400. According to the requirements of the provincial Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters, the daily test capacity was further increased up to 2000 at the end of the month.
